Cooking together

Last night, Ursula and Godzilla left home to visit their friends so my husband and I were all alone at home. After another snowboarding session, we decided to cook. We went in to the storage where lots of foods are kept and picked up those vegetables we want to cook.

Tomato risottos was cooked by me.



I called it "a plate of Carotene". I cooked pumpkins, my husband cooked carrots. Carotene promotes vitamin A in the body.



My husband was also in charge of grilling lamb.



It was perfectly done in medium rare.



Kitchen is big enough to work 2 people efficiently. We enjoyed it a lot.

The atmosphere of this mountain house with fire place especially increase the feeling of coziness.

We were too full but the food was that of 5 star restaurant!

1st Snowboarding in Switzerland!

Finally, it was my debut day of snowboarding in Switzerland. I was looking forward to this day but same time, I was nurvous. I've never been so good in snowboarding.

I was telling everybody that I'm abosolutely beginner.



But that's actually not true. I've done snowboarding couple of times in Japan. I felt never confident but at least I tried.



When I got to know my husband 3 years ago, I went snowboarding in Japan many times during this winter, even though we were apart. I somehow thought maybe in future, I will go snowboarding with him in Switzerland.. (we were not even BFGF that time) That's why I practiced and was able to make some turns.



So as I thought, the day came. Snowboarding with him. He looked after me very well. He could run very fast but he kept my pace.



I fell.



He waited for me until ready.



Ursula is also super good snowboarder.



I knew it from beginning, but once again I've realized. She is SUPERWOMAN.



I followed her:) My husband coming after me.



It was very beautiful day and was fun to run down with everybody. The slope is not as crowded as that of Japan and comfortable. By the way, Godzilla is not in the photo but he is also great skier. He runs very fast.



I tried to ride like husband but still scare of steep slope and speed.

On the next day, I have experienced the most freaky lift you could find in the world. That I will write next time...

Baking bread

Our holiday is precious family time. Yesterday, I baked bread with Ursula.



We used 2kg of flour!!
It's a very healthy bread, using brown flour and mixing oatmeal together.



First, put all flour in a bowl and add little bit of salt.



Meantime, mix the magic powder with sugar which ferment the bread.



Soon it turned into liquid. Interesting..

Mix Oatmeal, some almond powder in flour and add this liquid also in the middle of the bowl.





and just keep making knead dough by hand! This is tough job.



Don't forget to put flour on your hand before working...



Our friend suddenly visited us while I was working with this dough. He had to risk himself:)



After working with the dough for a while, the texture became like a soft ear lobe of baby. Take it out from the bowl and put it on the table covered by flour.





and make small pieces.



Gently put them on the tray.



about 60 breads are made out from 2 kilo of flour.

Then wait for a while until they nicely ferment.

Bake in the 220C oven for 20 min.

I enjoyed it's delicious aroma while baking them in the oven.



Hmmmmmmm, perfect!!



Ursula's special bread!



I tasted one as soon as came out from the oven. It was the best bread I've ever had, better than any ther bakeries!!



In Zürich, since me and my husband often has our own schedule over the weekend, I hardly had time to bake or cook together with Ursula. But staying in a same home over holiday, we have plenty of time to do something together, which I really enjoy.
Next time, I want to try making hand-made pasta!

Arriving Lüsai

Our holiday just started last night from super cozy dinner at mountain house. We head off from Zürich as soon as finishig my last working day of this year. The traffic was smooth than ever and we arrived Lüsai much faster than we thought.

As I get off from the car, I breathe very cold mountain air but soon went into warm lighted home, where Ursula preparing beautiful dinner.



We had very warm welcome from Ursula and Godzilla. Warmth of the home is the best treatment we could have after long drive in snow.



The wooden table is ready to serve us dinner..



and the meat will be grilled directly in fire place. Wow, so special!!



Carrot and pumpkin soup warmed us up.. I like the color as well, orange and green.



Ursula knows exactly how to grill the meat with fire!
Godzilla told me that the name of this house is "Castle of Ursula". It's a very nice old house, which is expected to be 600 years old!!



It was such a cozy dinner.



Having delicious dinner in a warm wooden house surronded by the snow is one of the most comfortable experiece you could have.
I was already very excited for the days we will spend here.

Christmas Gifts

When we realized, our Christmas tree who arrived naked to our home was gorgeous.



Godzilla and Ursula brought lots of presents underneath the tree!!

We kept the space for dessert and came back from the restaurant to enjoy cake and presents!!

Chocolate cake was baked by aunt but Zeno already had a slice before the party..;-)



So lovely, the Christmas Card from my family in Japan arrived on this day. We opened it together. Funny my brother as usual.. he wrote "I wish you all happiness for new year so please also pray for my happiness". That's typical my brother,,, he's now looking for a girlfriend:)

I can kiss to the shoe.



I gave my husband CD of Alicia Keys and Paris Hilton. He's a fan of Paris. Sometimes I'm jealous because she's too sexy but I also like her style.

I also gave him comfortable long sleeve pajama since he catched cold during cold night. But the present from Godzilla beat it up!!



Japanese Yukata designed by Godzlla, super cool!



Zeno is more than happy with the gift!! Hey,,, don't you like my pajama!? Ya, I have to admit that this yukata is much more special than boring pajama.

Zeno also gave me sexy dress where I can wear in nice party! I can't wait to wear my shoes and this dress together.

I baked Lebkuchen (special Swiss Christmas cake) on the day before and invited Godzlla and Ursula for tea party. Lebkuchen was a present from me to them. But if we do such a huge present exchange, next year I will arrange some small gifts to them as well. I had no idea how our Chirstmas will be..

They even wrapped up "Neo Zitron" (medicine for cold:), electronic toothbrush and small book, which are very practical. I didn't want to give them non usuful present but now I know what to do for the next year. I learned something.
